Ever since Donald Trump's The Apprentice first aired, it seems everyone wants to be a billionaire real estate mogul. Gamers will soon get their chance to virtually live that dream, as Atari today announced that Tycoon City: New York has shipped to retail.
Players will get the chance to carve their own empires out of the Big Apple from humble origins, building and customizing restaurants, nightclubs, and theaters before moving on up to run media conglomerates and Wall Street financial firms. Tycoon City features more than 100 different types of business ventures in all, and the real-world setting and landmarks of New York will be accompanied by real-world product placement, including Time Magazine, Tag Heuer, and Nokia.
Developer Deep Red Games has some experience in the world of business-strategy sims, having previously developed Monopoly Tycoon and Vegas Tycoon. Tycoon City: New York is rated T for Teen and retails for $39.99.
FIFA Street 2 GOOOOOLLLLLLD
Electronic Arts is all set to bring footie back to the blacktop, as today the company announced that FIFA Street 2 has gone gold for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PSP, and Nintendo DS and will start shipping to retailers February 28.
The game returns to the flashy brand of four-on-four soccer EA introduced in last year's FIFA Street, with an emphasis on over-the-top moves and arcade action. New for the sequel are an expanded array of tricks, reworked gamebreakers, new signature moves for pro players, in-game juggling, and a new trick-stick system.
The third leg in EA's Street series (which also includes arcade-style takes on the NBA and NFL), FIFA Street 2 was developed by Vancouver, British Columbia-based EA Canada. In addition to developing the original FIFA Street, the studio also handles the NBA Street and FIFA Soccer franchises.
FIFA Street 2 is rated E for Everyone and will retail for $29.99, except for the PSP version, which will carry a $39.99 price tag, in line with EA's new pricing strategy for its current-gen titles.
